The Innovation Pathway, created by Health Innovation North East and North Cumbria (HI NENC), enables innovators, from the NHS and industry sectors, to access bespoke services, covering the entire innovation life cycle.

From initial idea conception through to its adoption by the health and care sectors, we support innovators to develop innovations that improve population health and support our regional economy.

Central to the HI NENC, the Innovation Pathway provides a robust service framework through which to guide innovators, breaking down the journey of an innovation into the key stages of assessment, development, evaluation, commercialisation and spread & adoption.

A range of services are delivered by the HI NENC and the wider North East health ecosystem, to lead the innovator through each stage.

We work closely with partners, stakeholders, regional and national networks to ensure that innovators receive services, bespoke to their requirements, to progress the development of their innovation. The pathway services support innovators, academics, and businesses every step of the way.

We enable innovators to drive and champion innovations into the NHS for patient benefit, as well as, where appropriate, to grow businesses across the region.

Whether an individual or a team, NHS led or a business, innovators from all backgrounds and sectors can access the expertise and services provided by the HI NENC and partners.
